What is a pocket sprung mattress?

A pocket sprung mattress is made up of hundreds or thousands of individual springs, each housed in its own fabric pocket. Because the springs move independently, the mattress responds to your body weight and shape more precisely than traditional open coil designs. This helps improve support, particularly around pressure points, and limit motion transfer, making pocket sprung mattresses a popular choice for couples.

Are pocket sprung mattresses good for back support?

Yes, pocket sprung mattresses are well known for their supportive qualities. The individual springs adapt to your body, helping to keep your spine in a natural position throughout the night.

What firmness ratings are available in pocket sprung mattresses?

Pocket sprung mattresses are available in a range of firmness options, including soft medium, medium, medium firm, and firm. Firmer pocket sprung options are especially beneficial for back and stomach sleepers, while medium or medium firm designs suit most sleeping styles.

How many springs should a pocket sprung mattress have?

Spring count plays a role in how a pocket sprung mattress feels, but it’s not the only factor to consider. Our mattresses range from 1,000 to 20,000 pocket springs, with higher counts offering more responsive support and finer weight distribution. However, the quality of the springs, the comfort layers, and the overall construction are just as important as the number itself when choosing the right mattress.

What sizes of pocket sprung mattresses do you stock?

Pocket sprung mattresses are available in all standard sizes. Our range includes pocket sprung single mattresses, small double, double, and king size options, as well as small single and super king, making it easy to find the right fit for your bed and bedroom.

Are pocket sprung mattresses available with additional comfort layers?

Many pocket sprung mattresses include added comfort layers such as memory foam, latex, or natural fillings. These layers enhance pressure relief and comfort while the springs provide essential support, creating a balanced and supportive sleeping surface.
